A multi-dimensional musical performance composer George Voukanou
Music & Orchestration: George Voukanos
Directing care, Narrator: John Voglis, Script, text: Mary Voukanou
Set Design: Kula Galioni, Directed Video: Alkis Zervos
A Musical Journey to the Land of Asia Minor, entitled "In Praise of Ionia," presented by the Kostas Macedonas, Mario, Nina Lotsari and Eleanora Zouganeli. This is a musical journey through time and place nurtured over Greece, civilization, progress and chalk memories. Once again the music will find its own unique way to send the arrows in the heart of things. And so the music will remember the "lost homelands". Ionia Praise is a trip to a place that nurtured the culture of Greece, progress and chalk memories. Through the interpretations and views (rare visual material), the show purports to measure truths that transcend seasonal phenomena and to revive memories and scents of the time we left legacy musical sounds from antiquity, Byzantium, the municipal border and Aegean tradition and important milestones from Rebetiko refuge and pain. The choice of repertoire and songs of particular interest as it covers a wide range of many disparate musical styles. Focusing his compositions, and songs that were loved by the composer George Voukanos takes us to places and ways that require singing the music of the peoples of Asia Minor. Friendly Attendance: Chronis Aidonidis, Nectaria Karantzi, Alexandra Athanassopoulou The accompanying ensembles: Melody Chamber Orchestra, the traditional group melodeon Christos Tsiamoulis, the Eastern State, and the Music Group of Tositseio Arsakiou Ekali Schools (Teaching Christina Varsamis-Koukni) Soloist Apollonian Lyra: Michael Caravasilis Guitar Soloist: Mario Mourmouras Percussion: George Sarikos Accordion Christos Zerbinos, Address ensembles: Eleftherios Kalkanis, Parts of the project: Excerpts from the work of Asia Minor Earth, Angels of the Aegean, known and unknown songs from the musical tradition of the Ionic Earth.

"Olympics. A breath of civilization, peace, sportsmanship and ideals into the stranglehold of a world that abolishes ideas, freedoms and ideals. A world that slips in frenzied speed of the material, and only greed. A world that if you look at himself in the mirror the eyes of a child will see the face of a horrific inhumane shame. The Olympic Games from ancient times until now always give a small chance for people to stop the flow of time. An opportunity that resonates like a breath of refreshing, with the wind of peace and ceasefire to blow through the souls of people driving away the pain and suffering of war. A moment that triggers people to peacekeepers and to enter the mental and physical exercise. A sport for us Christians is ongoing and difficult, a soul and spirit of sport that requires race, faith and love. The text of the Apostle Paul, the fathers and teachers of our Church, the texts of ancient authors such as Pindar and others are in Areton Anotera topical as today resound in our hearts rather than whispers of the past but as voices of the future...." text by George Voukanos

2001 "Like a dream by the sea ..." Thision, Athens
"When you start reading his work Papadiamantis get lost in a big dream and reality journey, a journey through the beautiful streets of the islands, the innocent smiles of children in sorrow and pain of a people seeking to find his way, a trip to Melista the church, the souls of people, the fluttering of love, the suffering of evil. A journey to life itself. The idea to deal with the music writer who dressed to the ratio of the imagination of the Greeks from generation to generation, and gave the human soul, the dimension it deserves, and moved me along with "dropped" into an inexhaustible source of ideas, imagination and emotions that I gave unsparingly the "Saint" of our Greek Letters. The first occasion was to produce an album that was inspired by the 4 seasons Papadiamantis titled "The Songs of God" and featured 13 performers, actors, directors, captured on 2 CD's. The 2001 Year Dedicated to Alexander Papadiamanti gives me the opportunity to do a new musical journey in his Papadiamantis surpassing the limits of artistic orchestration of songs and creating a new project with purely symphonic nature fashioned to be read by a large orchestra and choir. A complex operation that I believe will open new roads in the Greek music to create a project that does not alter the great writer's poetic language and unites traditional musical structures of the past with today - I believe - music perception today. This effort is difficult for another reason. The stories of Papadiamantis had to work with a lyrical way that each song tells the story of the novel to which it is aiming to bring the language and style of the author closer to the people and serve other than an artistic event, the trigger take care and other artists with their Greek Writers us which are the beacons of our cultural horizons. At the same time tried to have the form of a journey to imagination, to dream, in our daily sorrows, joys, which indicates the title of the project "Dream Journey to the Sun Alexander. A trip will start in the Concert Hall, the National Opera and will continue throughout Greece. A journey that I hope to do with boat dreams and our captain Alexander Papadiamanti the Sun leads to the waves of the mind and heart..." George Voukanos

A musical journey that began in 1997 to mark the release of my first record presence of "Angels in the Aegean - Music Trilogy" and takes place in various regions of Greece our islands and abroad. I am very happy to continue this journey and this summer with new investments and musical timbre.
The cooperation and longtime friendship with the popular presenter of ET1 "Ellinomania" Chris Mylonas, the Orpheus Orchestra Young Performers that accompany each trip, our local involvement and cultural society and artistic intervention painter Nikos Batis create a timbral pandesia of Greece has to offer a strong culture in the opening of the new millennium both East and West. Viewers of these concerts will have the opportunity to enjoy the song tradition, joy and nostalgia familiar to us all played by genuine traditional instruments and new performers who love and promote the Greek musical tradition.
I believe that this will have the opportunity for new generations to discover the magical richness of our tradition and continue the difficult and arduous task of maintaining and preserving national identity...." George Voukanos
